Maki-chan (マキちゃん Maki-chan), also known as Maki Tamagawa (玉川マキ Tamagawa Maki), is one of the main characters in the Pandora Voxx series. She was first shown in Life Cheating Game. However, she was always present in every song as she was the cause of every miracle.

Appearance[]

Maki is a young female with short pink hair, layered over messy hair that grows out by her shoulders. She has purple eyes and fair skin.
Maki wears studded earrings, with a heart-shaped earring on her left ear and a diamond-shaped earring on her right ear. Her earrings are white with a pink glow. She has also been shown to wear an earring shaped like the PANDORA VOXX symbol in the KEMU VOXX logo. She wears a white pinstripe collared shirt with a black bowtie, trim, and underneath sleeves, and wears a black push-up bra over her shirt. To match, Maki wears short black gloves. She wears a separate jacket and is sometimes seen with suspenders that connect to her belt. She wears a white waistcoat underneath the jacket and black shorts; additionally, she wears black ripped thigh high socks that also serve as her boots.[1]
In her novel appearance, Maki instead wears a white seifuku: a white top with golden stripes on the bottoms of the shirt, sleeves, and oversized collar piece. From the collar, a black ribbon hangs to around Maki's waist area, with a golden string from the center attached from her right sleeve. Furthermore, she wears a black skirt with a white trim and retains her black gloves and ripped thigh high socks, though trades out the boots for black loafers.

Background[]

Many years ago, a professor created the PANDORA VOXX, a wish-granting device. Maki says that she is the device and describes herself as a "wind-up God". Although she appears young, Maki-chan's physical age is unknown. She is laid back and often uses rude vocabulary. Though she is a god that grants the wishes of humans, sometimes her implementation is a little off, so the results are different from what was intended.[2] Maki appears both in what appears to be peoples dreams and reality. She enters into people's dreams and grants their wishes, leaving some effect in the physical world.
In the Invisible novel, Maki goes under the name of Maki Tamagawa. She enrolls into Souhei's school, even though she still grants wishes, and is portrayed as a girl that can do anything, exceeding in sports and piano. She attracts a lot of attention to herself during this time. Natsuhiko says of her, "Such an impressive appearance, I don't think I could ever forget, even if I only saw it once," and she is often described as "pretty enough to be an idol."[3]
